乔治·麦可（英语：George Michael，1963年6月25日－2016年12月25日），本名乔治斯·基里亚科斯·帕纳约托（Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou，Γεώργιος Κυριάκος Παναγιώτου），是英国籍希腊裔创作歌手，擅长灵魂乐、摇滚乐、爵士乐、节奏蓝调、舞曲，甚至福音等多种不同曲风，是1980年代和1990年代主流音乐家，本身亦是葛莱美奖、全美音乐奖、全英音乐奖和MTV音乐录影带大奖等多项大奖得主。

1980年代初，与安德鲁·瑞吉里（Andrew Ridgeley）以“轰！合唱团”（英语：Wham!）出道，随即红遍英国与美国，1985年4月访华，乃是首次有西方流行音乐乐团、歌手于中国改革开放初期伴随大批西方传媒记者到访中国。历经大红大紫的该团于1986年解散。1988年单飞的乔治·麦可以专辑《信念》（Faith）创下演艺生涯高峰，成为欧美最受欢迎的男歌手之一，其名曲包括〈离去之前叫醒我〉（Wake Me Up Before You Go Go）、〈去年耶诞〉（Last Christmas）、〈无心的呢喃〉（Careless Whisper）等，唱片销售量超过1亿张。

2016年的耶诞节当日去世，享年53岁。英国女王伊莉莎白二世、索尼音乐娱乐和环球唱片等纷纷表示哀悼，并赞扬他是“西欧最高天赋的音乐人之一”、“世界级歌手”。

George Michael是Wham双人乐团的一员

他们在1981年组团, 当时的New Wave音乐正蓄势待发要成为流行歌坛的王道.他们最早有有首歌Wham Rap, 靠这支单曲和SONY签约. 并于1983年发行首张专辑Fantastic!, 除了收录Wham Rap, 还有一首单曲Young Guns也很红。

80年代中期, 科技掀起波涛, 电脑热潮, 资讯科技滥觞; CD准备代替黑胶唱片成为新宠; CNN、MTV等频道开台, 有线电视业变成当红炸子鸡; 经济有着一番荣景,很多台湾产业也在那时起步; 雅痞次文化兴起; New Wave艺人打扮华丽, 影响到青少年穿着, 衣服都带有垫肩增加帅气(现在看起来俗, 也许过两年又流行了)...这应算当时的'若干'时代背景.就中, MTV台带动热门音乐视觉化, 各唱片公司纷纷推出艺人的音乐录影带, 而且越拍越好, 最经典的当属Michael Jackson的Thriller。


Wham自然不能免俗出了几支Music Video, 但内容普普不值一书, 倒是在音乐上有不同凡响的表现. 1984年专辑Make It Big推出后掀起乐坛狂潮, 金曲一支接一支,分别为Wake Me up Before You Go-Go、Careless Whisper、Everything She Wants和Freedom, Careless Whisper也是年终单曲冠军。

Last Chritmas是走红于1985年, 尤其接近耶诞节时更是舞会必播曲,
也被收录在Wham第三张大碟Music from the Edge of Heaven里。
Wham不断推出单曲而且支支动听, 不过创作皆来自于George Michael之手, 目光焦点自然落在他一人身上, 相对另一团员Angrew Ridgeley就变得樱樱美代子。


【补充】：
※1986年Wham!推出了他们的最后一张专辑Music From The Edge Of Heaven，George担纲了专辑中所有歌曲的制作及创作大任，出现在专辑里的大部份的乐器，也都由他一手包办。不过，George和Andrew却在乐团尚处于巅峰的彼时宣布解散。两人在1986年6月时于英国伦敦的温布莱体育馆举行告别演唱会，Wham!也正式走入历史。
※ 熟悉流行音乐的人都知道，其实Wham虽然是由Geroge Michael及Andrew Ridgeley所组成，但是其实Andrew Ridgeley是不懂得任何乐器的，而Wham的所有歌都是由George Michael主唱、作曲、编曲及音乐演奏一手包办(除了Careless Whisper有份作了一半)，既然是如此，所以George Michael数年后顺理成章作个人发展，当然也是非常成功。
