The Black Keys 由主唱兼吉他手 Daniel“Dan”Auerbach 以及鼓手 Patrick“Pat”Carney 两人组织而成，师承美国传统蓝调音韵，并延续庞克复兴和迷幻摇滚气味，大玩拼贴艺术本事，交叠出收放自若嗓音及多样乐器演奏的极至发挥。早在 Brit-Pop 已了无新意玩不出新名堂之际，一股蓄势待发的摇滚新势力，早已虎视眈眈瞄准下一波乐势走向。很快受到唱片公司青睐招揽旗下，2002 年首张专辑‘The Big Come Up’赢得时代杂志名列“2003 年 10 组表现最佳艺人”之中，隔年再接再厉问世之‘Thickfreakness’广泛获得各界瞩目，其中单曲”Set You Free”被摇滚疯客 Jack Black 主演“School Of Rock/摇滚教室”选用为重点衬乐。创作力旺盛的 The Black Keys 持续在 2004-2006 年间推出两张 EP‘The Moan’与‘Chulahoma：The Songs Of Junior Kimbrough’、一张专辑‘Rubber Factory’以及一张德州演唱实录特辑，逐步奠定乐坛基础，同样受到 Radiohead、Beck 等人肯定，至其巡回演唱会担任演出嘉宾。
