- 约翰·霍华·卡本特（英语：John Howard Carpenter，1948年1月16日－）是一位美国男导演、监制、编剧、演员和作曲家。虽然他参与在众多的作品，但大多为1970年代和1980年代时期的恐怖和科幻片。
起初，除了《月光光心慌慌》（1978年）、《纽约大逃亡》（1981年）、《外星恋》（1984年）外，卡本特的电影票房大都不是很好。但他在1970年代和1980年代时期的作品却常被视为“邪典文化”，这使卡本特成为公认具有影响力的电影工作者。其他经典作品如《黑星球》（1974年）、《攻击13号警局》（1976年）、《夜雾杀机》（1980年）、《怪形》（1982年）、《克丽丝汀魅力》（1983年）、《妖魔大闹唐人街》（1986年）、《沉睡百万年》（1987年）和《极度空间》（1988年）。
