历史
KaySöhl和键盘手VolkerSöhl和Matthias Harder于1990年创立了“Temporal Temptation”乐队。那年夏天，Sylvan的最终创始人首次在德国演唱了大部分硬摇滚，只有一点点进步的摇滚乐。
1990年秋季，乐队改名为变色龙，成为变化的象征。专辑作品类似早期的Marillion封面，从未发行。 1991年夏天，Marko Heisig加入了变色龙，担任主唱和贝斯手。在一九九二年至一九九四年间，他们的音乐变得阴沉而进取。 1992年，变色龙的第一个官方演示磁带发行。随着Matthias Koops作为主唱，第二张官方演示录像带被录下。标题是奴隶，其歌曲列表是时间，奴隶，终身之镜，童年梦想。

Sylvan的第四张专辑X-Rayed听起来更加粗糙和更黑，另一个概念专辑，每首歌曲都讲述了处理情绪状况的人物故事。 2004年的德国和欧洲巡回演出，在美国宾夕法尼亚州的春节仪式上亮相，并在科隆向Marillion提供支持。
西尔文随后制作了两张专辑，两张专辑于2006年4月发行。后来的沉默在复杂的音乐中描绘了一位父亲，他读了他显然死了的女儿的日记，并学习了她的绝望。预设有更短和更流行的歌曲，使Sylvan的音乐对更广泛的摇滚乐迷而闻名。
完成这项工作后不久，创始人和吉他手凯·索尔（KaySöhl）离开了乐队。他在2007年年底被替换为在宾夕法尼亚州静音现场表演之后的吉他手Jan Petersen。
